Mysore, Mar. 19 - Woes and suggestions poured in from entrepreneurs at the interaction meeting on Power problems and related issues with Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Company (CESC) Managing Director Dr. P. Boregowda organised by Mysore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) at Institution of Engineers on JLB Road here this morning.
Presiding over the meeting, MCCI President Sudhakar S. Shetty pointed out that vol tage fluctuations and load sheedings were affecting the targetted production. He suggested replacement of overhead power cables by underground cables to arrest theft of power. He observed that the transmission and distribution losses should be further brought down.
Jayanth, an entrepreneur from Metagalli sought the rationale behind repeated hike in power tariff when CESC has failed to provide adequate power.
Replying to this, Dr. Boregowda said that efforts were on to better the feeder and distribution network. He assured to introduce communication through email or SMS regarding notification of any power interruption. He announced that the street lights network would soon be controlled by a solar-powered system.
Devaraja Market Traders` Association President Madegowda pointed out that the power distribution network in the market was obsolete contributing to frequent fire mishaps.
Boregowda assured to discuss with Mysore City Corporation officials and rework the system. He announced that underground power cables would be laid around the Palace, now declared a heritage zone.
